Pay-Per-Click Marketing (PPC)

Pay per click adverts, or sponsored listings, are the results displayed on the right hand side of a search engine results page.

The most common form of pay per click adverts are on Google, however Carter Roe can also develop and manage campaigns using Live Search (formally MSN Search) and Yahoo!’s equivalent search engines.

Pay per click campaigns are run via client accounts which allow them to create a range of adverts and related keywords. Information such as geographic location can also be decided within the account. A maximum price per click can be assigned to each keyword.

If someone types one of your keywords in to the search engine your advert will appear in the right hand column amongst other similar ads. Where your advert appears depends on various factors including; maximum price per click, your daily budget, relevancy and quality of your advert. If the person searching for your keyword clicks on your advert you are then charged by the search engine for the click.
